Worth Every Penny
This fan puts out so much air it is incredible! Even on the low setting, there is a lot of air being moved around. I find that on the high setting, the fan is noisy. That is why I rated it four stars for quiet operation. I love the design of this fan, it's very stylish. All in all I couldn't be happier with my purchase and I will consider buying Vornado products in the future.

Quiet on low
In August I drove up to New England for a course and packed the fan in the car because in the evenings the temperature was in the 80's indoors. The first night in a b&b I put the fan on top of a table in front of the window air-con unit and it worked really well at taking the cool air and blowing it throughout the room. The next few nights in a college dorm room with no air-con, I put the fan on a shelf at the foot of my bed and adjusted it so air was blowing horizontally from the foot of the bed up and over me, I found the fan noise acceptable on low for quiet operation overnight. The compact 530 fan could be improved by adding a feature to auto-rotate from side to side but as it is now I appreciated its compact size, the range of manual vertical adjustment, its quietness on the lowest speed setting, and how on higher (louder) speeds it is powerful enough to act as a room air circulator on its own.

Excellent performance from a small fan
Lived up to every other great review I read. I bought this fan for a large master bedroom and it honestly made the temperature in that room significantly cooler. Great product.
