Great bar fridge
Overall, I am very happy with this product - it keeps drinks cold, looks sleek and fits well with my man cave wet bar (see photo), is reasonably priced, and quiet enough (see note below).
I bought this back in August but it came with the door slightly slanted, so I called Living Direct who agreed to send me a new one, which came but was damaged en route, so we sent that back and had them ship another one which came within a few days. Now that the new one has been installed (couldn't be easier, although I am having trouble adjusting the leveler on the bottom) it looks great in my bar and even at 40 degrees it keeps the drinks very cool (I recently increased the temperature to 42 degrees). The fan does make noise regularly but it's no more than what a regular fridge would make and does not bother me much (although it may some people). I did a fair amount of research on undercounter bar fridges and this one is exactly as other reviews mentioned, mostly on the positive side. Very happy with the product.

So far..great
Very pleased so far.....exactly what i wanted. Works great...keeps beverages very cold....unlike the cooler we had to replace. Hope it lasts. The old one...NOT an Avanti..gave out in about 18 months. But this one is an improvement on every level. So I'm hoping for a better record.
A couple of cosmetic problems.. Switching the door to open on the other side was tricky. And installing the handle wasn't easy. And those little bottle pictures look a little tacky on such an otherwise beautiful appliance.
However, these are minor issues, as far as I'm concerned. I am very, very happy with this purchase.

Just what we wanted
Excellent value, keeps beverages very cool. Sleek design. Only thing I would like to see changed is the outline images of various beverages at the top of the unit. I will try to think of a way to mask them.

Great beverage cooler
I really like the mirrored glass on this unit. The icons of bottles on the top control strip are pretty cheesy, as another reviewer had mentioned. I plan to fix this by slipping in a glossy strip of Mylar to cover them. There is enough of a lip to do this.
The compressor itself runs as frequently as what I would expect. Maybe every 5 -10 minutes (I have my temp set to 35F). However there is a circulation fan that runs for 3-5 seconds every 30 seconds. I'm sure this is to keep the cold air from simply settling to the bottom and to keep the overall internal temperature more uniform. So this is not a complaint, just an observation which is different than other fridges I own.
My only real complaint is that the plastic stopper blocks for the racks (the racks slide out 6") have screws that are very hard to remove without good tools. Furthermore, there are no starter holes to accept these screws on the adjacent locations where you may want to move a shelf. I just removed all of them (took me 10 minutes to remove 6 screws...), and I will just be careful how far out I pull the shelves.
Lastly, the light is effective, but only turns on manually with a button. It will turn itself off after a few minutes. I guess I would have preferred an automatic door open light. It does however let you see your contents to some degree with the door closed (the mirrored door reflects alot of light). With the light off, the door is pretty much a mirror. I prefer this since I don't consider the contents of my fridge to be part of my decor.
With these minor quibbles aside, I really like this unit, and I am very happy with my choice. Working with the sales rep at CA was also great. I would not hesitate to recommend the product and company to friends.

I purchased this unit about a month ago, and the fan inside the beverage cooler turns on and off every 30 seconds or so. I do not believe this is the coolant running, as I do hear that sound once or twice a day when you can hear the liquid moving through the unit. Is this normal?

I noticed the exact same thing. I have had this unit for a few weeks as well. I think it's the fan circulating the air inside the unit to maintain a more uniform temperature top-to-bottom as well as to make sure the compressor only runs when really necessary. I notice the actual compressor running with a typical frequency for a fridge (15-30 min intervals). In my review I mention this too. Love the unit overall.

If the unit is reaching and holding the desired temperature that you have selected than it is most likely functioning as designed with regards to compressor and fan frequency. Hello,The over all measurement will be 23 inches. If you exclude the door you are then taking "about" an inch and a quarter off. Unfortunately we will not have the exact depth with out the door as the manufacture does not provide this to us.
