    Product Reviews

Danby 60 Pint Portable Energy Star Low Temp Dehumidifier 4.5 5 87 105
Excellant product a little loud The unit is very easy to opperate and is great for my basement. It is however a little loud & even louder when the fan is on high but since it's in my basement it doesn't matter. The automatic drain is easy to install and works great. No more emptying the water container. March 12, 2013
Dehumidifier Very happy with my purchase altho this unit is a little noisy it is doing the job that I expected and yes, I would recommend to anyone it is a very good unit to purchase, Fast shipping directly to your door is a plus, from this dealer. January 20, 2013
Danby Dehumidifier IS Noisy As noted in other reviews, this machine is very noisy. The noise stems from vibrations in the plastic housing. It represents poor knowledge of how to design parts from plastics. The noise can be reduced some by putting a wedge under one side of the machine to keep parts from vibrating. That said, I had three similar GE units which were less noisy, but each lasted just over a year. This machine has a two year warranty so I'm hopeing for better lifetime. January 8, 2013
dehumidifier use Have used the product only about a month, but it does a good job of dehumidifying my basement. It's easy to use and does the job. Only time will tell how much service it gives. December 26, 2012

Thank you for your question. This unit has a threaded connector for the drain hose and can also be used with a garden hose should you need a longer hose.

For programming the unit, you can program a time that you would like it to be on, or you can program the humidity level that you would like the unit to reach. Once reached it will go into standby mode.

Thank you for your question. Yes, this model has a removable filter. To remove it, you first need to remove the condensate bucket. The filter is located above the drain/condensate bucket towards the front of the unit. It is a washable filter.

Yes, this unit is great for use in crawlspaces. You will just need a power source and a method for removing accumulated water, the best and most effective being a direct drain line.

yes, as long as you have power and an easy way to empty the bin when it fills with water or connect the drainage hose.

    A:
Yes, if you can place it on a concrete or plastic base, and have a floor drain nearby. You won't want to empty the bucket in a crawlspace everyday.

    A:
Can either connect the drain hose or empty manually. The electricity usage would depend on the amount of humidity the unit is placed in. The area must be enclosed from the outside environment and also sized for the number of cubic feet that it will be dehumidifying.

You can empty the portable basin. That's how I do it as we use it in our basement. Also I just purchased it and don't know about the electricity yet. I wouldn't think it's too bad as I had a much older dehumidifier that malfunctioned and I didn't see much difference in our electric bill.

You can connect a hose to it for continuous drainage. Just be sure you are draining to a place that is lower than the hose connection. This unit is energy star rated and costs about $20 per year to operate.
