Good product Onlt thing I do not like is if it is still running and you want to empty the bucket, you must turn it off first and wait to drain. Other machines I have had in past, as soon as you pull the bucket out, they shut off. This feature was very nice, wish Danby hadit. December 2, 2013
Danby 45 pint dehumidifier Dehumidifier is exactly as advertised, even though the fan is continuous it is much quieter than our previous unit by another manufacturer. We are very pleased with the unit it worked quickly to remove the moisture. It is a great product as well as the excellent price and free shipping. I would highly recommend both CA Compact Appliance as well as Danby to anyone looking for a Dehumidifier. October 23, 2013
Effective dehumidifier Only complaint is the fan runs all the time. I am not sure how this will effect its energy efficiency. October 22, 2013
Danby DDR45A2GP I have had a very old dehumidifier running in my basement for 10 years. I thought it was doing a good job. We have always had the musty basement smell, but the dehumidifier was filling up so we assumed that was the best we could expect. Three weeks ago, we purchased this Danby dehumidifier. What a difference. The musty smell is just about gone. The basement block is drying out. I also used a gizmo to measure electricity usage. Comparing my old one to the new one. At first, the new one was costing more to run per day. But now that the basement is drier, it is cheaper to run the Danby than our old one. I got a little worried on 9/12/13 when I read there was a major recall of dehumidifiers, including some Danby models. However, after doing some research, I believe my model was not included.
