Description:

Eva-Dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier

The Eva-Dry Electric Petite Dehumidifier (EDV-1100) uses Peltier Technology (no compressor) which makes it light and quiet. A true testament to the quality of this model, the EDV-1100 was recently reviewed by Bestcovery and awarded a "Best Pick" designation among comparable dehumidifier models. This model is perfectly suited for bathrooms and small to mid-sized rooms where dampness and humidity are a problem. This unit is small enough to easily fit on your desk or workbench. Features an automatic shut off switch to shut the unit off when the water reservoir is full. When this occurs a"full" indicator light will alert you when the reservoir needs to be emptied. Holds up to 16 oz.

Other key features make this model a solid choice.

I Like It I bought one for each bathroom to keep the moisture down after showers. They seem to doing their jobs. I have no idea if they energy efficient , so I gave that 3 stars. They are quiet, cute, small, and easy to use. September 15, 2012
Guitar Maker I use this dehumidifier in a sealed cabinet in conjunction with a humidistat to maintain a relative humidity of 45% for tonewoods. I added a drain hose so it never needs emptying of the water container. September 14, 2012
better than expected Was having trouble with dampness in a basement bedroom & closet from the humidity levels. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a bigger unit when I found this one. I was surprised at the amount of water this unit has taken in. Noise was another concern and it is very quiet. I am not sure what the life span of this product is but it works well in a smaller room. good purchase! Work's great in small space. A little too expensive tho. June 25, 2012

I doubt it, but it all depends on your climate. I put 1 in a 144 sqft normally dry basement room, it keeps it dry but fills up every week.

Probably not as much as you'd want; this is meant more for a small (bed/bath room), closet, pantry, etc.

I don't recommend it for your apartment. Best use is for a smaller area like a bathroom or a pantry.

It would probably help, but I think 600 sq ft is expecting too much from the little guy.

    Hello!

The unit covers 1100 Cubic Ft. In order for us to give you a specific answer in sq ft, we will need to know the height and width of the room, we also need to know if there are any closets in the room.

It depends on your starting point. Mine was at 62% and went down to 46% overnight and then settled in at around 40-43% since then.

That's really hard to say, because it depends on so many variables, like current humidity and ambient temperature. However, under normal circumstances, if you left the unit running constantly, you should expect it to see it get the humidity get down to 30 to 35 percent.

I have a small car that I leave in Florida during the summer. High gas prices prohibit moving the car 1000 miles each way, and high humidity in Fl. necessitate expensive detailing every year. A unit that would require emptying every few days won't fly. There are drain holes in the "pockets" that the rear seats snap into that would easily facilitate draing a unit such as this. I know that larger units have a drain feature, but might be over kill for my purpose. Thanks

This has a 16 ounce cup to capture the water. However, if you are a handy person, or an inquisitive one, you can make this an ever drain system with little work. A local plumbing store should be able to assist in finding parts. I do not recommend just drilling a hole to implement this, but rather to heat the bit and melt it instead. You basically need like a 1/4" fitting that has a flange on each side that can use rubber washers to seal it against the plastic and allow a hose to be attached to the outside. Think, supply line going into your toilet, only smaller. Hope this helps. DollarSeed

This unit does not have an automatic drain feature. However, we do have a smaller unit that does have a drain feature. It's the Sunpentown SD-652.
