Eccotemp Indoor Tankless Water Heater - Natural Gas

The indoor equivalent to the 40H-NG, the Eccotemp Indoor Tankless Water Heater (40HI-NG) is designed to supply hot water to a standard three bedroom, two bathroom home. This unit is an ideal choice for retrofitting your old storage tank heater, or can be plumbed in a new location. In addition, the 40HI-NG is powered by natural gas which is generally more efficient and carries a lower operating cost than similar electric units.

Rated at an already impressive 6.0 GPM, this unit is also split system adaptable which can further increase efficiency and hot water delivery speed. With built-in pressure relief, filter system and a 10 year warranty, this tankless hot water heater is the ideal choice for a standard sized home.

small footprint big output I had a hot water tank in the bathroom of a house of a house we just moved into.The room was small to begin with so the water heater was way over the edge, being in the way. Will the tankless water heater was the answer to my problem. The chimney was already thruogh the bathroom cieling so it didn;t make sence to move the water heater so I replaced the tank heater with the tankless and did it myself in about five hours time.GREAT MOVE,, I have all the hot water I could ever want and the space I gained in the bathroom make the room adiquite . Output of hot water is great to, I can turn on two hot water faucets all day and never run out of hot water. SUPER GREAT November 8, 2010

Eccotemp Indoor Tankless Water Heater The unit came within 36 hours of ordering. The installation was completed in 6 hours by my 59 year old brother who is not a plumber. One trip to the hardware store. Performance is in the moderate range, one error so far from unit, no hot water after resetting unit. Then an hour or more went by before more fumbling went by & got resolved. Best thoughts at this point are the next unit no one "elderly" is going to have to deal with a tank, installation will be easier. December 31, 2012

We have a 2-1/2 bath house where the 1/2 bath is the laundry room. Two retired adults. Will this heater support one shower and the washer at the same?

Also, we have a whirpool bath and the current 50 gal electric heater will support this. Will this heater support this tub?

According to Eccotemp, you will have zero problems using 2 showers at the same time. You will have plenty of hot water for the shower & washing machine. At the same time.

Actually, you will have no issues using 2 showers at the same time even in northern climates with this unit. Ground temperature water does not fluctuate that much in the continental US. You will have plenty of hot water for the shower and washing machine. At the same time.

As for your whirlpool bath, yes, however, you may not be able to fill the tub with a fully open faucet if your faucet is producing in excess of 3 gallons per minute. If this is the case, you would simply open the hot water tap about 1/2 way to ensure that the water has time to heat. Thank you.

Answers

This is relatively easy to install. Just connect the water and gas lines, and vent the unit out, and you are ready to go. To save money, you will want to place the unit on an outside wall, or as close as you can get to it, and vent the unit through that wall.

Is this the right tank?

I am going to use this heater in my garage, I am useing radiant heating I am currently useing a 80 gal. electric water heater. It has the smart box It keeps kicking out< I have to reset it almost daily. but other than that it heats garage ok. Curious if this heater will provide enough hot water in cold weathr? approx. 1000 ft of 3/4 " line in floor..

Tankless water heaters are not good options for radiant heating, they are just not efficient and you will not be happy with the results.

There are electric tankless water heaters. However, they use an incredible amount of power, and require you to have at least 200 Amp service into your home.
