EdgeStar Upgraded Portable AC Vent Kit for Sliding Glass Doors and Large Windows
Perfect for non-air-conditioned Seattle Condo!
One of the downsides to living in Seattle during this time of ever-increasing summer temperatures is that most of the homes here have no air conditioning. And, until about 4 summers ago, I agreed that it wasn't needed, except for about 1 week a year or so. Then, when the temperature soared to 107 degrees F in 2008, I knew that global warming is real, and is upon us!
So far that was an isolated event, but still, on a third floor condo with ambient temperatures of 90s and high 80s for weeks on end - it gets uncomfortable. So, I wanted the biggest portable unit I could find (no window units allowed, wouldn't you know), and at 14000BTU, this machine was what I wanted for my 1200 sq ft flat condo. And it is so wonderful. I come in from work and in about 15 minutes or less, the space is cooled down and feels so nice. Air is drier, and I feel better without that mantle of hot sticky air. It's a good buy, and I'm very happy with this.

Sliding Door Kit
Went together easily & I used 1/2 inch foam pipe insulation all around the circumference & it formed a perfect seal; then I bungee corded the handle & hooked it into the opening for the existing lock. Works perfectly.
