Excellent Product
Before purchasing my portable ice maker I researched the numerous models available on the market. The EdgeStar model IP211SS consistently had the best reviews so I subsequently purchased one. After receiving my ice maker I followed the cleaning instructions and began making ice. It worked flawlessly and made clear ice cubes in a remarkably short time. So far I am completely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it. The only short coming is the owner’s manual does not give clear instructions on setting the clock or operating the timer.

So far so good!
I've been through several ice machines and I finally found one that can keep up with our family. I've been using this non-stop since I got it about 3 weeks ago and it runs great. I am very pleased so far with this machine. The other ones I've had, conked out at about 2 weeks. This will be number 5. So far so good! I only have one complaint, and that is, since I am iron deficient, I like to chew ice, this ice is not as soft and chewy as the others. This ice has more of a thin glass texture, has sharper edges, but I can live with it.

The only thing I can find a gripe with..is the SMELL of the ice, I have made a lot of ice, and the last batch had a terrible smell... I need to know if it will go away or keep smelling bad!!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT PURCHASE
Purchasing this was for home use due to the fact that our fridge has a freezer on the bottom. Making Ice cubes was getting to be such a hassle for us at our advancing ages, so having the countertop ice maker has been a blessing. We are so pleased with the icemaker due to the quietness of it running to the cute little cubes it makes. It was a very valuable purchase for us. I would recomend everyone needing ice cubes to purchase this - it is so easy to run it.

After Ice is made and in hopper, how long will it stay before melting, and if it melts where does the water go??

Also for a small 20 man office, can you regulate the amount of Ice being made at a time?? In other words, if hopper gets filled up, will maching stop making, like our refirgerators??Answers

The hopper fills up when about 4 standard trays of ice are made. No real way to regulate except to keep the hopper empty. I suspect because I keep the hopper empty it will keep ice frozen for a few hours. As the ice melts that water gets recirculated back to make fresh new ice.Answers

All my Kitchen appliances are white. Does this Ice Maker come in white? Stainless Steel is to hard to keep clean.

I have looked all over to find an Ice Maker that will fit into my nook. The problem I am having is the nook is only 13" wide with a top to bottom opening of 16" and the top cabinet extends out as far as the counter on the bottom. So it makes it very difficult to use an Ice Maker that opens on top. I seen a few Ice Makers with drawers that open in front but agian they were silver not white. One other thing I am looking far is a machine that makes solid cubes not round hollow cubes. Any sugestions? With the slanted door on the EdgeStar IP21155 and an extra 2'' above the Ice Maker, do you think the top door would open up far enough to access the ice bin? Thanks for your time.Answers

This machine does not make solid ice cubes. Only the bullet sized. Not able to help on the sizing problem. Keeping the Stainless Steel clean is a breeze. They have come along way on solving that problem.

So, the one I would suggest that is white makes the kind of cubes that you do not like, but you may want to take consider that unit as it is probably the best fit for your space. The model is KIM202W. That said, with the slanted top on this unit, you should have no problem accessing the ice.
