Best Yet - I Hope!
This is my third portable ice maker. The other two were different brands. They worked fine for a year or so, then quit. Quote to repair the first one was about the price of a new one, so I replaced it with another brand. The second one recently quit. I did not take it to a repaimr shop, because in addition to quoting a high repair price, they require you to pay almost that much for "diagnosis" if you want the unit back. So, you are giving them a unit which they can probably repair for a few dollars and sell at a good profit.
Internet reviews on the Edge Star were much better than those for other brands and that influenced my purchase.

Works well.
It's a little noisier than one would prefer but does an excellent job of
cranking out ice. Set up was simple and it will continue to be used a
couple of times a week for as long as it lasts. We consume a lot of ice
and use it to compensate for the less than stellar performance of the
'fridge icemaker. One improvement would be for the ice chamber to be
better insulated so cubes could be held longer within the machine.

BE SERVICED. IMMEDIATELY THEY ACCEPTED MY EXPLANATION,
& SHIPPED ME A NEW ONE WHICH I GOT IN 3 BUSINESS DAYS.
THE NEW ONE WORKS FINE. I'M PLEASED WITH THE ICE MAKER,
