Great American 60 Gallon Rain Barrel - Earth Brown
At 60 gallons, the Great American Rain Barrel (RET-BRN-BAR) is the largest capacity and best built rainwater collector available. This unit comes complete with overflow fitting, drain plug, screw on cover, and a threaded spigot. For additional water storage, simply link rain barrels together with a short piece of 3/4" garden hose. This is the most durable barrel, with a wall thickness of 3/16".
Each UV protected polyethylene rain barrel is manufactured in the USA from a recycled shipping barrel that stands 39" tall by 24" wide and weighs 20 lbs. empty. Attach your garden hose to the spigot and water your garden or lawn, even wash your car. This rain barrel arrives with simple instructions for fast and easy installation.

Great Product

1. If this barrel is made from food-grade PE, why can it not be used for potable drinking water?2. Does the barrel have a screen inside the lid, as some other rain barrels do?

Great questions...1. The barrel has not been treated specifically for holding potable drinking water.
2. The lid is equipped with a screen to prevent debris from getting into the barrel.
3. It is approximately 20 -24 inches wide.

Does the rain barrel come with the rain diverter or is it necessary to order that separately?

A:
The rain barrel does not come with a rain diverter, you will have to order it separately. The rain diverters come in two sizes. The small will allow you to use a 3 inch round or 2 inch by 3 inch rectangular downspout. The large will allow you to use a 4 inch or 5 inch round or 3 inch by 4 inch rectangular downspout.
