    A:
If you are facing the back, you will find a small grill on the bottom...to the right of that grill you will find a small square opening. Inside that opening you will find a small fitting covered with a plastic protective cap. Remove the cap and you'll see the supply line connection. I used a steel braided supply line instead of the plastic line provided.

You need to run water to the area where you will use the ice maker. It's just like hooking up a refrigerator water/ice maker unit. I would connect a filter to it though because the unit will last longer. Get a plumber if you do not know how to do this.

    A:
Look behind the unit. There is a water inlet valve. If you don't have the proper fittings, any local hardware store carries what you need. I recommend using the metal fittings and lines. Plastic is cheaper but, if it gets pinched or caught between something, the result could be a nightmare- water leak.

Hook up on back side. It takes a standard 1/4 inch fitting.

    A:
It is in the back behind the metal grate. You have to reach up behind the grid. You can't really see it unless you have it up on a counter or table.

We have used this ice maker for about a month and it has kept the ice perfectly frozen over a long weekend (Labor Day). It is used in the school nurse's office, and they love it.

It will keep the ice frozen. No acessories are needed. Be sure to purchase a 1/4 inch brass nut, ferrule, and insert to connect the water line. The plastic one that comes with it will not hold. (Trust me on that or you will have a big clean-up with a mop to do)

Yes it will keep the bin (about 6 lbs of ice) frozen.
You should buy a good icemaker line, the one supplied is cheap plastic.

    A:
Yes, it will keep ice frozen because it is a freezer. Our last Kitchenaid ice maker was not a freezer. Everything you need comes with the unit. The only thing I would add on myself is a filter, but I would have a plumber install it if you do not know how to do this.

You can either get a stand of some type, or a filler, to make up the difference. Or, you may want to consider a taller unit, like the EdgeStar IB450SS.

You have to hard wire it to a water source. A reservoir will not provide enough water pressure for the unit to operate properly.
