While both units will definitely lower the temperatures of your gym and have many of the same features, both the Port-A-Cool and Waycool have some pros and cons. After weighing the options, the Port-A-Cool seems to come out on top. It has a significantly lower price tag yet actually has a higher pump and motor amperage. It's air delivery system will cover 9600 cu. ft. per minute while the Waycool delivers about 1560 cfm. The Port-A-Cool's water reservoir will hold 32 gallons, while the Waycool's will only hold 14 before it needs refilled. The Waycool's oscillating fan is a very nice feature, however you can purchase a louvre kit for the Port-A-Cool if you want more directional airflow. The Waycool's manual says it "spot cools" in a "narrow stream", and I think for a gym, you will benefit from the Port-A-Cool's wider stream of air flow.

If you choose two of the Port-A-Cool units, you can guarantee more than 6000 sq. ft. of cooled air, and near maintenance-free operation. It also comes with a nice warranty: 1 year parts/3 years fan motor.
