Works as well as a full sized machine Product: Sunpentown White Portable Dishwasher was as described. It came on time. Easy to set up and use...as long as you review the instructions. I read all the reviews here, and elsewhere, before making my purchase. This is the first time I purchased from CA and my first automatic dishwasher, and I am extremely pleased with both. My kitchen is a 1940s eat-in. The machine would not fit on my counter, but because I reviewed it so much, I was prepared and purchased a cart for it. I did need to replace my inexpensive faucet, it did not like the hook up...but once the faucet was replaced, I was in business. I've cleaned EVERYTHING in this little machine: Pots, pans, silverware, plates...items that I really cannot say are "dishwasher safe"...and everything came out clean. #I've even loaded it with items that only had a quick rinse and had minor food particles still attached....it cleaned them!# I use Cascade Platinum, because I read that most people having trouble with this power-house cleaning: it was usually the soap and/or how they had it loaded. If you have a problem with having to load and unload a couple times to handle large messes...buy a full size machine. Otherwise, this machine does it all. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to have a digital time counter so you know how much longer there is on a cycle...and there is probably a better way to set up the basket to accept more. But, that is it. If you 1. do not have the room for a built-in and 2. really do not want to spend 3x the amount on a full-size portable #that will have a plastic interior#... this is the machine for you. It is the best purchase I've made in a while...I'm thinking I may buy one for my mom and sister for Christmas. March 11, 2013

portable dishwasher this product exceeded my expectations... fits on contertop, easy to use, and actually cleans the dishes. January 2, 2013
Exactly what I wanted This is a great little dishwasher. It looks bigger on the counter than I thought it would, but it holds plenty of dishes and it is a lot quieter than I thought it would be after reading the reviews. I also thought from reading reviews that it wouldn't dry the dishes well, but it does an outstanding job on my dishes. I just cracked the door open a little to let out some of the steam. The silverware came out shiny and clean just like everything else. I would definitely recommend this dishwasher to a friend! October 26, 2012

It has it's own water heater, which is great. I only had my water heater turned up for the dishes, but now I can turn it down to normal.

Yes, this model does have a pump, however, it will only go about 3 feet vertical. Also, it is not recommended that you install this under a sink using a permanent water hook up. Doing so will void the manufacturer's warranty.

I am considering buying one for a permanent install. The instructions say to turn off the water after the cycle. I need to know if that is just to disconnect the water hose from your facet or is necessary to finish the wash cycle? From those who own it, could you think of any reason the water could not be left on continuously?

And Yes, I know this will void my warranty.

Were you successful installing your SPT dishwasher permanently? If so, Did you encounter any leaks or malfunctions? I am aware it voids the warranty.

The water could be left on for a permanent installation. It only needs to be shut off so that the pressure can be released and the hose disconnected from the faucet.

The water can be left on continuously, and if you are going to hard connect it, then it would almost need to be left on.

    Details:
We have a kitchen spigot, attached to a hose, that pulls out from a sleeve under the one-handle faucet. I don't suppose we can make this work. Will it work with a bathroom-type spigot? We are in a temporary situation and a unit like this would be useful.

Also, can dishes be added at any time like another model on this page?

Thank you for your question. You are correct in that your kitchen faucet, as you have described it, will not work with the adapter provided. If the faucet in your bathroom is a standard one, where the bottom of the spigot screws off (the filter), then you should be able to use this unit. Simply screw off the bottom part (the filter), screw on the included faucet adapter, and attach the hoses, and you are set and ready to go. As to your second question, you can add dishes in the middle of the cycle, but the manufacturer does not suggest that. Hope this helps, and good luck!
