Undercounter Medical Freezers: Out of the Way, Still in Reach
Whether you work in the medical field or you have special health procedures you follow at home, you know how critical it is to have access to the right medicine or gear stored at the correct temperature at a moment’s notice. You never know when you might require the right instrument or a life-saving treatment. In many cases, the materials that are being stored also need to be kept in a controlled climate due to their sensitive nature. If this sounds like a situation that you’d be in, you might benefit from an undercounter medical freezer.
Durable and Out of the Way
An undercounter medical freezer is designed to offer perfect storage and easy access without sacrificing the quality climate control you need or taking up too much space. They are made with durability in mind, with a coated exterior that resists damage and heavy duty shelving that can whatever you might need to store. This ensures that the unit lasts for many years.
Exact Temperature Control
An undercounter medical freezer is made to reach lower temperatures than those provided by a standard freezer, with an average of four degrees below zero or lower, depending on the model. The temperature that you need can also be carefully controlled and monitored with an external thermostat that clearly displays the temperature at all times.
Safety and Security
Your undercounter medical freezer was made with storage efficiency in mind. It can provide you easy access without sacrificing the quality climate control that your facility needs. Many of these models come with a keyed lock on the door, meaning that only those who know the code will be able to access the contents of the freezer. This ensures that the materials within are only used for their intended purpose. Some models are even equipped with an alarm that will let you know when the temperature changes. This can also be set to go off when the wrong code is entered into the lock, or when it is otherwise tampered with.
Convenience and Special Features
There are multiple sizes of undercounter medical freezers available. They can range from around two cubic feet of space up to nearly six cubic feet. These can suit the undercounter space requirements of almost any location. This allows you to keep the most important materials right where you need them at all times. They also have more available features than a standard freezer can offer, such as multiple compartments that keep the materials at the right temperature even when the door is open.
Ensure that your patients receive the best possible care that you can provide. For things that need to be within easy reach, an undercounter medical freezer could be the perfect solution. It has been designed to make your job easier in multiple ways. Whether you are just getting set up in a new practice, or you need to refresh old equipment, it's always a good time to find what you are looking for at Living Direct.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
