What Is A Built-In Wine Fridges?
Built-in wine coolers are designed to blend seamlessly with the cabinetry and appliances of your kitchen. You can purchase them in a specific size and finish so that it looks like it was custom made for your home. Most people prefer this to the typical free-standing fridges that are not designed to blend with the other parts of the kitchen. They provide an aesthetically pleasing look to your room.
Although this style of wine cooler is commonly built-in to the kitchen area, many people also like to install them into game rooms, TV rooms, or bar area. If there are multiple places in your house where you consume wine, then it might even make sense to install more than one cooler. This way your favorite drinks will always be easily accessible and convenient.
Wine coolers allow you to store your wine at the proper temperature so it does not go bad. Because many wines are different, they often need to be stored at varied temperatures. You can customize the temperature of your fridge based on your specific wine collection. Depending on your needs, you can also purchase a built-in unit with a single zone or dual zone temperature functions.
Many of the coolers come with air cool technology. This technology ensures that each area inside the unit is properly cooled, and it prevents unwanted hot-spots that could ruin the wine. In addition to this cooling technology, most built-ins can be set digitally. This makes it easier to monitor and control the temperature.
Undercounter wine coolers are not simply just for looks and proper temperature, they also come with special glass doors that eliminate UV rays from damaging the wine. This glass also ensures that unnecessary heat will not enter the unit and mess with the taste and makeup of the wines you own.
Wine coolers are available in a variety of sizes, depending on the size of your space and your wine collection. There are built-ins that have enough shelves to store over 100 bottles. Some are smaller in capacity and can only hold up to 20 or 30 bottles.
The Benefits of Aging Wine in a Wine Cooler
If you are an avid wine drinker then it is important to have the right storage solution to preserve the quality of the wine. While you can purchase free standing coolers, it is important to recognize that these units are not designed to fit underneath countertops. They do not offer the custom look and feel that a built-in fridge will provide. If you are concerned and protecting your wine and promoting the best visual look in your home, then a built-in wine cooler is the best option. General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
