Features of an Outdoor Drink Refrigerator
Outdoor coolers include enough fun features and styles to customize them to your liking.
LED interior lighting illuminates your beverages when the door is open, making it easier to find just what you’re looking for, while digital temperature controls make it easy to adjust your unit to the exact desired cooling with the convenient push of a button.
Fan cooling, optional casters and reversible doors are just a few of the additional features that make outdoor coolers so fun.
Choose the Perfect Beverage Cooler
It can be easy to get overwhelmed when choosing an outdoor beverage cooler. After all, there are simple versions and more sophisticated models all touting a variety of exciting features. The trick is getting a handle on where and how you will primarily use your new outdoor cooler. By understanding the space you need, what you plan to store and what ideal cooling temperatures are needed, you can quickly make the right choice and be on the way to enjoying this unique outdoor appliance.
You’ll first need to get a handle on the space in which you’re using your cooler. Outdoor coolers are available in a wide range of sizes, so figuring this out early can help you whittle down your choices much faster. It can also influence the style of cooler you select. For instance, a cabinet style cooler, where items are stored on simple shelves behind a glass door, will tend to be smaller and ideal for tight spaces. These models are also great if you only plan on using your cooler once in awhile.
If you have a larger space - say a big barbecue prep area or a full-scale outdoor kitchen - there’s more room to play around with. You may want to consider a drawer-style refrigerator. These can be built into outdoor counters to slide out like a drawer - extra convenient when you’re grabbing condiments and ingredients during meal prep.
Next after size, the most important feature of your outdoor beverage cooler is going to be its cooling capacity. This is where knowing how you plan to use your cooler is critical. The optimal temperature to store a canned soda may be too low to store wine. Choosing a cooler that gets cold enough can ensure that drinks are safely stored prior to consumption.
If you plan to store foods or condiments in your beverage cooler, look for a cooler that can keep foods at or below 40 degrees F. Beers and wines can be safely served at higher temperatures. Whether you’re hosting a big party, working in the lawn, or having an outdoor movie night on your lawn, shop our outdoor beverage coolers to add convenient, tasty drinks and snacks to the menu!
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
