Electric Kettles: The Quick & Easy Way to Make Tea
Heating water for coffee or tea has never been easier or more efficient than with a professional electric kettle. These impressive kettles, made by brands such as Chef’s Choice and Jura-Capresso, heat water more quickly than microwaves. With their high power wattage, they can bring over a quart of water to a boil in mere minutes. An electric kettle also conserves electricity and minimizes heat loss when compared to heating water on a traditional stovetop. While they work great in homes, these electric kettles are also perfect for convenience stores, break rooms, continental breakfast bars and dorm or hotel rooms. Heat your water quickly and easily with a durable electric kettle.
Fast Boiling and Convenient Features
Electric kettles have a lot of benefits when compared to boiling water on a stove. Most electric kettles can boil water in less than five minutes, which is almost half the time it takes to heat water on the stove. The secret is the electric kettle’s concealed heating element, which creates concentrated heat at the base of the kettle. Whereas a stovetop tends heat up a kitchen, these sleek electric kettles release minimal warmth outside of the water being boiled. The concealed heating element is also a safety feature. The base of the kettle remains cool to the touch throughout the boiling process, whereas stovetops stay hot even after they’ve been turned off.
Many electric kettles can heat a quart or more of water, which is very convenient for serving many people at once. Unlike a kettle on the stove, an electric kettle has automatic shutoff features that keep it from dry boiling and getting ruined. Some models even offer water gauges on the handle that indicate when the kettle is ready to be refilled. In addition, electric kettles generally have larger spouts than their stovetop counterparts. A larger spout makes the kettle easier to clean, so maintenance is a breeze.
Storing your electric kettle is simple. Many professional kettles offer in-base cord storage, so you can quickly stow your kettle without the hassle of bulky electric cords getting in the way. Alternately, because stainless steel kettles look so sleek and don’t present a safety hazard thanks to the built in heating element, many choose to display their kettle on their kitchen counters. Stainless steel is not the only option, though. Some professional electric kettles feature beautiful, durable glass. These allow you to quickly gauge the water level while providing a stunning display of bubbling water. A feature that many people enjoy is the 360-degree swivel design in some electric kettle models. This convenience allows users to access the kettle’s stay-cool handles from any direction. Because the kettle fits onto a base that plugs into the electrical outlet, the kettle is considered cordless and can be removed and transported from the base with ease.
The useful nature of electric kettles extends beyond tea or coffee. With boiling water available in minutes, your electric kettle is ideal for making instant soups, hot cocoa and blanching vegetables. They can also come in handy when creating a home spa experience – use the boiling water for footbaths or steam treatments.
Make Your Life Easier With an Electric Kettle
The convenience of quickly boiling water without a stove is a real game changer. Stop boiling water the old-fashioned way, and start using your time more efficiently with an electric kettle.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
