Why Choose an Undercounter Kegerator
This type of kegerator has many benefits. Most obviously, it lets you enjoy tap beer without giving up space. This is ideal in a place like a home kitchen, where every square foot may be needed for prepping food, cooking or the many essential appliances we all love so much. But a kegerator is also a great way to make use of empty space. Perhaps you have rarely used cabinets occupying an area you’d like to tear down and re-purpose. Or, it could be that you’re designing a new kitchen and want to fill voids with more than just extra drawers. Either way, a kegerator offers a practical, exciting and fun solution.
It’s tempting to purchase a free-standing kegerator, slide it into an extra space and be done with it. But it is crucial that you buy a unit that is specifically designed for built-in use, with front-venting and a other special features that will help extend the life of the unit you choose. Unlike their free-standing counterparts, built-in kegerators are equipped with built-in fans to cool the compressor. This is critical when the unit is in an enclosed counter space.
Finding the Best Built-In Kegerator For Your Home
Once you have decided on installing an undercounter kegerator, consider where you plan to install it as you choose a model to buy. Here at Living Direct, we proudly carry a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor-grade kegerators that can be built into your countertops. Indoor kegerators are designed to operate in more steady temperatures, usually around room temperature. Outdoor kegerators are specially built to operate in the highs and lows typical of patios, garages and other outdoor spaces.
Next consider how much beer you plan to serve. Our built-in kegerators can accommodate kegs of all sizes, from small sixth barrels to larger half-barrel kegs. Is your kegerator mostly for personal use or just to taste a few different beers? Try a smaller capacity unit to ensure you waste any beer. Will your kegerator be the center of a party space? Look into a larger-capacity model to ensure you don’t have to change the keg in the middle of a party. In addition to being convenient overall, our undercounter kegerators include an assortment of features designed to make their use simple.
Dual-tap and triple-tap models let you keep multiple beers ready to serve. These are the most popular option, as you can keep different beers on tap, from a keg of your own homebrew to a your favorite IPA or Stout. Brilliant digital control panels make it easy to regulate your temperature with just the push of a button, while heat-free interior LED lighting illuminates your kegs without warming them up.
An undercounter kegerator is an investment in your home that you won’t regret. Shop our built-in kegerators and enjoy the sense of luxury and convenience a home beer dispenser can bring.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
