If you are going to spend money to keep wine on hand, then it is also important to invest in a wine cooler to ensure that you are storing your favorite beverages properly. Small wine coolers are ideal if you drink wine on occasion or just want to keep a few of your favorite bottles close-by. They are also a nice addition to your game room, guesthouse, or theater room. Designed to hold less than thirty bottles, we have a wide selection of small wine refrigerators that are available in a variety of styles to meet your needs.
A Functional & Effective Way to Store Your Wine
Small wine coolers are available in both free-standing and built-in models. A free-standing wine cooler is more portable, and it can be placed in various spots around your home. However, many prefer the aesthetic appeal of a built-in wine cooler. With a built-in, you can install the cooler right into your cabinets, so it looks like it was custom made for your space. Many people like the seamless look and the convenience of a built-in.
Most of these smaller wine coolers resemble a mini fridge or built-in refrigerator. They are available in different finishes, including stainless steel and black metal. People often try to coordinate the finish with the other appliances in their home. However, some chose the finish simply based on preference or budget.
One of the main reasons it can be beneficial to own a small wine refrigerator is because your wine needs to be stored at specific temperatures. Red wine should be stored at a higher temperature than white wine. People who prefer one type of wine usually invest in a cooler with a single zone cooling area. For those who drink both red and white wines, there are coolers that offer two different cooling zones. Even better, many small wine coolers allow you to customize the temperature based on the specific wines you drink. Several of these compact units also have special technology that eliminates hot-spots that could tamper with the quality of the wine. With these temperature benefits, you can ensure that the taste and quality of your wine will be preserved until you are ready to consume it.
In addition to the temperature controls, most wine coolers come with special glass doors that provide UV protection. These doors are usually designed to shield UV rays and eliminate heat from entering the cooler. Heat and UV rays are particularly harmful to the state of your wine, which is precisely why it's important to have a fridge that can block out these elements.
Each wine cooler is extremely well made, with shelves to hold the bottles. There are even some small wine coolers that come with locks in case you have expensive bottles that you do not want everyone to have access to. The free-standing coolers are lightweight enough to transport or move with ease, but sturdy enough to protect your wine. Built-in coolers look like an extension of the space, adding a luxurious and unique character that most homeowners appreciate.

General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
