If you live in a dry, a very hot environment, or perhaps an arid climate like the desert southwest, you may have experienced the health difficulties and discomfort that come from living in such an environment. Fortunately, a cool mist humidifier provide relief to your home, at work or in any other indoor space.
Have you found that your allergies flare up in very dry environments? Perhaps you have noticed that you suffer from dry, cracking skin or difficulty breathing when the humidity level of the air is too low. Cooling humidifiers mist the air with refreshing, deeply penetrating droplets of water. Maybe you are used to living in a moister climate but have recently moved to an area where there is very little humidity. In these situations, and many others, you may want to consider getting a cooling mist humidifier to adjust your air to your comfort level. Misting machines can easily transform your home from a dry desert to an oasis of breathable, moist air.
Moist Air Has Many Health Benefits
Do you suffer from a dry throat that becomes itchy and uncomfortable at certain times? Gently adding a subtle amount of moisture to the air around you can sometimes help to resolve these issues. Humidifiers have been known to cut down on allergy symptoms as well as helping people recover more quickly from common colds, flus and other illnesses.
It is very common to see a humidifier in children’s rooms, in areas that are upstairs or on the top floor of a home. Similarly, these machines are designed for homes with a wood stove or some other kind of extremely drying heat source that tends to draw all the moisture out of the air. Elderly people, in particular, may suffer greatly from breathing air that is not properly humidified and may find great relief in using a humidifier. Still, those who deal with chronic coughs, seasonal allergies, nose bleeds and other symptoms of respiratory irritation may find that moistening the air cuts down on their symptoms immensely. Cool mist humidifiers are also known for helping people get a quality night’s sleep, particularly if they are coughing or sneezing frequently.
If you live in a climate that fluctuates greatly between very wet and very dry, you may find that you need to use your cool mist humidifier during specific times each year. Those who live in areas where there is a very defined rainy season and a dry season may find that they only need to use the humidifier during the dry season to compensate for the lack of natural moisture. Regardless of whether you choose to use your humidifier on a regular basis or just on-and-off, adding water to the air comes with a number of health benefits that can help to greatly improve your breathing and overall quality of life.

General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
