12,000 BTU Air Conditioners: The Perfect Size for Bedrooms & Offices
When the seasons begin to change, the shift of temperature on the inside of your home is immediately noticeable to most people. For those without the convenience of central heating or air, this can be extremely problematic. Fortunately, there are several solutions available on the market for just this situation, meaning you don’t just have to suffer through the heat and cold after all. Mid-size portable AC units are a cost-effective, energy-efficient way to manage your home or apartment’s interior climate throughout the year, and ensures that you’ll remain comfortable regardless of the weather outside.
Big Convenience in a Small Package
Typically, mid-size portable AC units tend to be relatively small, meaning you won’t need to reserve a great deal of your limited space for the appliance’s operations. The only limitation when it comes to placement is the availability of windows – these AC units require a window in order to ventilate and function properly, as you will need to run a small, slender hose to the outside of your home. This process has been made much easier in several models with the inclusion of a window kit that provides exactly what you need to get the job done right in an efficient manner.
While these units do require a window in order to function, they take up much less space than a window air conditioner unit, meaning your light source and your view will remain intact while you enjoy the heating and cooling capabilities of your new appliance. These particular units can be expected to have an effective range of about 300 – 450 square feet in the large majority of models, making them the perfect solution for controlling the climate in a bedroom or small living space, though this will often depend on the feature being used. For example, those which offer heating functions will have a smaller range when this feature is being used.
However, most models come installed with multiple built-in fans which help to spread the warm or cool air around the room and get it circulating consistently to make the most of the appliance’s efforts. Furthermore, since mid-size portable AC units can be easily moved, there’s no need to worry about purchasing multiple products for your home. Simply move the appliance from the living room to the bedroom without hassle whenever it’s needed. For even more added convenience, many of the newer models come with a remote control, so you can adjust the temperature of your area without needing to fiddle with knobs, dials or buttons across the room.
When you purchase and install a mid-size portable AC unit in your home or other chosen space, you’ll no longer need to worry about how the seasons change outdoors. You can now rest assured that, come what may, you’ve made a wise investment that goes a considerable way in controlling and maintaining the interior climate of your home, office, bedroom or other important space. Furthermore, you’ll be secure in the knowledge that you and your family will be comfortable in the months to come. Finding a safe, clean, energy-efficient and cost-effective solution to your heating and cooling needs has never been simpler.
With a huge selection of mid-size portable AC units, Living Direct offers the perfect climate control appliance for customers everywhere, regardless of space or budget restrictions that might arise during the shopping process. Regardless of which model you choose, rest assured that you’ll be getting a top-notch solution to your most immediate temperature-control needs from one of many excellent brands and models currently on the market.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
