Large Portable Air Conditioners: The Best Way to Cool Large Rooms
If you live in a home without central heating and air, you could be facing some real trouble when the summer heat and winter chills roll around. Fortunately, there are solutions available for houses lacking central air conditioning (or people looking for temporary reprieve while their central AC is on the fritz). Large portable air conditioners are a great, versatile way to address your climate control needs – and they’re also very affordable. While window units may seem like an excellent idea, they are stationary appliances, and can therefore only impact one area of your home. Portable air conditioners and heaters, however, provide solutions for heat as well as cold that can be moved from room to room. Because they can be easily transported, you’ll only need to buy a single model.
Convenience and Efficiency
Over the years, popular brands such as EdgeStar, Koldfront, Avallon and LG have worked hard to perfect their large portable air conditioner designs, so you’ll get a great appliance at the best price possible. Typically, these larger models are ideal for cooling apartments and other small living spaces, because depending on the model and whether you’re heating or cooling, they cover an average of 400 – 550 square feet. However, there are a lot of great features available to increase the amount of space your portable air conditioner can handle. For example, many models come installed with multiple fans, which help to circulate the warm or cool air through a room more effectively and can expand the range of the portable air conditioner. Other features also make the units surprisingly convenient. Many models offer remote controls, meaning you can adjust your room’s temperature from anywhere in your home without getting up to fiddle with dials and knobs. Because the air conditioners are portable, there’s no need to buy multiple appliances for each room. When moving from the living room or kitchen to the bedroom, simply move the air conditioner. These machines are designed to be as lightweight as possible, specifically for this purpose. Thus, they are the optimal choice for anyone who values versatility in a machine. Adding to the convenience, maintenance tends to be simple for any model. Owners must simply clean out the filter to maintain the unit’s performance – and prevent potential fire hazards that can, on rare occasions, result from blocked intake areas. Energy-saving performance options also ensure that these appliances don’t cause an unexpected spike on your energy bills.
Regardless of how small or large your space may be, you can benefit from a large portable air conditioner. Not only are they convenient, they will also save you time, energy and money as you manage your home’s climate. In the end, there’s simply nothing like large portable air conditioners when it comes to cooling and heating the rooms in your home effectively. You can be confident that you and the other members of your household will stay comfortable as the seasons change.
Living Direct offers a huge selection of large portable air conditioners from a wide variety of quality, reliable brands. These models come with a wide array of features that ensure everyone will find the perfect unit for both their home and their budget. Keeping your home’s interior climate under control has never been easier, and acquiring one of these helpful appliances is merely a few clicks away.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
