Cooling & Heating Options for Any Sized Home
When you have a room that is too hot or cold, it can be unpleasant to utilize the space. One of the more convenient solutions for heating and cooling particular rooms in your home is with heat/cool wall air conditioners. These units are designed to utilize a specific amount of British Thermal Units (BTUs), which are a measure of energy utilization, to produce both the heat and the cold.
No matter what size of room you need to heat or cool, there is a model that will work for you. There are 8,000 BTU models that are designed for smaller rooms of about 150 to 350 square feet. Larger rooms may require larger units, such as our units from 10,000 to 12,000 BTUs.
Keep in mind that in many of the units, the heating rating is below the cooling rating, which means you have to match both energy ratings to the size of the space that you wish to heat and cool. If you want equal power for both heating and cooling, there are Friedrich and Frigidaire models that have relatively similar BTU ratings in their units.
Ease of Operation and Extra Features
Not only are these units convenient to install in your home, but these units are also incredibly easy to operate. These units have a built-in thermostat with the ability to raise and lower the temperature to the level needed. Additionally, you can easily control the speed of the fan. Some models are equipped with the ability to just activate air conditioning, fan or dehumidification alone for convenient and energy-efficient control. Because many households understand the importance of the environment and saving money on their electric bills, most models have built-in settings for energy-efficient modes that will keep down the energy utilization. Take a look at the energy efficiency rating to get an idea of just how efficient your unit will be.
Depending on the model, you may additional accessories available to suit your heating and cooling requirements. When looking into heat/cool wall air conditioners for your home or business, make sure to consider investing in a model that is designed for low noise production. There are multiple models produced by companies like Friedrich, Koldfont, LG and Frigidaire that work well in rooms where you do not want excess noise. For extra convenience with your wall air conditioner and heater, some models even provide a wireless remote control for easy operation without having to get up.

General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
