Ultra-low temperature medical freezers are specifically designed for the most highly specialized laboratory and medical environments where there will be a need to store important lab samples and vaccines that must be kept at extremely low and constant temperature. Vaccines are sensitive and expensive products that require stable environments. Medical grade freezers provide added security for this type of storage.
Unlike residential freezers, these specialized units are made with advanced designs that allow them to maintain a more constant temperatures with less variation between -40 degrees to -86 degrees Celsius. These medical freezer units are truly remarkable because they offer some unique and useful features that go beyond the typical freezer.
Low Temperature Range
These units are specifically designed to operate at a low, consistent with less variation, temperature. The operating temperature range will depend on the materials you are storing in the unit. The majority of freezers used in laboratories or medial applications typically operate at -5 degrees Celsius. The wide selection of our ultra-low temperature medical freezers will offer thermostat ranges between -40 degrees to -86 degrees Celsius.
The majority of laboratories, clinics and hospitals require locks, especially if expensive or hazardous materials are stored inside these freezers. To keep your sensitive pharmaceuticals, samples, and vaccines safe security measures are standard on all of our medical freezers. From basic locks to state-of-the art security mechanisms including keypad access locks, and alarms that will alert you if anyone who is not authorized is trying to access the contents within the freezer.
Some of these freezers include a variety of smart features. Advanced smart features include on screen displays, real-time clocks, and event alarm history logging that keeps track of every time an alarm went off in the device’s history. Audible and visual alarms can be programmed with high and low temperature set points. Electronic components are supported with a battery back-up system in the event of a power outage.
Some units come with a highly useful multi-compartment feature, which involves inner doors that are magnetically sealed so that each compartment can be maintained at the optimum temperature for the specific items being stored within. Utilizing digital temperature control panels, you can store a huge variety of different items all within one multi-chamber unit. Some of these units even come with fail-safe mechanisms, such as door-ajar alarm systems that will notify you almost immediately if a device has not been closed all the way.
Built to Last
Our ultra-low temperature medical freezers offer superior cabinet construction that is durable and built to handle years of use and abuse. General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
