Not all kitchens are created equally. Some large, spacious kitchens might be able to tuck all of their appliance and flatware storage beneath cabinets, leaving the walls open and airy. More often than not, however, a good, modern kitchen layout features—smartly—wall-mounted storage space. These cabinets provide valuable and quick access to cooking tools whenever you need them, and without having to bend over or fish a bowl out of a floor-level cabinet. If your kitchen features wall-mounted cabinets, chances are you’ve got one installed directly over your range or stove-top. While convenient, these cabinets often bear the full brunt of your cooking. Smokes, smells, and airborne grease particles can head straight for your cabinets, ending up with a sticky, greasy residue when all’s said and done.
How You Will Benefit From An Under-Cabinet Range Hood
Our wide selection of under-cabinet range hoods feature popular and easy-to-use models that will fit in naturally into any kitchen. With a wide variety of finishes and power levels, you’re sure to find a model that suits your personal needs and preferences. The under-cabinet range hoods we offer fit directly beneath existing cabinet installations, where they can provide exhaust fans, grease removal, and bright lights to help you cook. Plus, fan control and light switches are always at your fingertips, right beneath your easy-to-access cooking tools.
While most range hoods naturally feature fans as their selling points, they also generally come with illuminating lights that will make cooking easier. Halogen and LED bulbs will shine a spotlight on your frying pans and boiling pots without adding too much extra heat. Never stir in the dark again.
Clear the Air
Of course, the breakout feature of any range hood is the fans which capture and exhaust smokes and smells from your kitchen. The most pungent recipes are often the most delicious, but nobody wants to smell those spices two or three days after you’ve cooked. Our under-cabinet range hoods operate at high speeds to quickly suck up those powerful scents, and can exhaust them through ducting to the outside or simply filter, clean, and recirculate air to your interior. Range hoods are commonly rated at varying CFMs (cubic feet per minute), and serve as a rating of how much air a given exhaust fan can remove in a given time. Depending on your kitchen size, space, and needs, you’ll find an appropriate power of range hood in our wide selection right here at Living Direct.
Range hoods don’t just capture air, either. They’ll also assist you in capturing grease particles that kick up into your kitchen air while you cook. But instead of letting those particles settle down and harden into a greasy residue that can coat countertops and surfaces, our range hoods will capture them in grease traps, so that when they do solidify, they’ll be in one easy space that’s incredibly easy to clean.
No matter your personal preference—or whatever your kitchen needs might be—we’ve got you covered. Check out our expansive selection of under-counter range hoods today and find something that’ll make cooking that much easier.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
