Coolers for Outdoor Living: Ice Cold Food and Drink on the Go
For the avid outdoors-lover, a top-notch food and beverage cooler can make all the difference when exploring new terrain. While a regular cooler can certainly get the basic job done when it comes to containing beverages, food and ice, recent years have seen many new coolers come on the market with so much more to offer. Everything from efficiently-built regular coolers to 12-volt coolers which use battery power to keep contents chilled are available, and each type offers a huge array of possibilities for the food- and beverage-lover on the move, ensuring a constant temperature regardless of the weather outside.
Advanced Cooling in Any Location
Whether you’re simply relaxing on your porch at home or on an enjoyable camping trip, a cooler is an important part of any outdoors experience, particularly in the hotter months. While many think a simple cooler you can buy at any store is enough to get the job done, true campers know that having the best outdoor cooler can make a big difference for longer excursions. Introducing a battery-powered fridge and cooler combo to your next outing can keep your food and drinks fresh for as long as you need them.
As far as technical additions go, some of the newer coolers come fully equipped with gadgets and all sorts of handy devices. One of the most useful features on these coolers is the accurate thermostat. This feature is helpful when it comes to storing meats and other foods which require a specific temperature in order to prevent spoiling. With an average range of -8 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, these coolers can be adjusted to be warmer or colder depending on the cargo you bring along.
Many coolers also feature built-in storage solutions as well, in order to make organizing your foods and drinks a simpler task than ever before. This is great on extended trips, as it keeps everything organized and separated inside the cooler so you’ll know exactly what you have (and therefore what you need) at a glance, without having to rummage around in ice or water to do so.
Some coolers feature various ports and adapters for charging as well. One of the most useful aspects of these particular coolers is the ability to charge the unit using the cigarette lighter in any car, truck, van or SUV. This makes these coolers the ideal solution for your cooling needs not only at home and on camping trips, but even on extensive road trips with family or friends.
Truly, with these advances in cooling technology, there is no more convenient way to chill beverages or foods when you’re busy with your travel itinerary.

General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
