Wall Mounted Range Hoods: A Must-Have for Modern Kitchens
Cooking can quickly turn from a pleasant hobby or activity to a nightmare. Preparation bowls and plates pile up, frying pans flare, and ovens smoke. Even well-trained chefs—be they in a home or restaurant—need help. While we can’t cook, clean, or shop for ingredients for you, we can help with the process.
A range hood is more than just a vent or a fan. While its most obvious function is to remove any smokes and smells that might accumulate while cooking, it also helps capture and trap airborne grease particulates. When grease cools down after cooking, it tends to settle on surfaces. After a while, your cabinets, stove top, and counters will start to show a greasy, unclean sheen. Our range hoods can snag that grease before it has a chance to set and build up, instead storing it in a trap for easy cleaning later.
Wall Mounted Range Hoods
When you picture a range hood, a singular image probably pops into your head: that of a metal rectangular under cabinet range hoods, nestled neatly between some wall-mounted cabinets. While it’s a classic look, not every kitchen has cabinets directly over a stove. If you’ve got ample space elsewhere in your kitchen, it can be beneficial to keep the space above your kitchen range clear of excess wood, storage, and utensils. But what about the range hood?
That’s where our selection of wall-mounted range hoods comes into the picture. These units are designed to stand alone without the cover of cabinets with ducting and styles that are sure to stand out all on their own. You won’t be able to hide these range hoods, but you won’t need to. Crisp lines and high-quality materials make these units a work of art that’ll look fantastic in any kitchen, positioned perfectly above ranges.
All of our range hoods are designed to fit your every need. A wide variety of CFM (cubic foot per minute) ratings allow you to pick and choose the unit that best suits your cooking and kitchen needs. No ducts to the outside? No problem. Some of our units are designed for kits that convert them into recirculating range hoods, where they’ll simply filter, clean, and return your kitchen air rather than send it straight outdoors. Which option you decide to go for may be up to a personal preference or how your existing kitchen is already laid out.Either way, we’ve got you covered. The same is true of your power preference. If you tend to cook high temperature recipes that produce a lot of natural smoke, smells, and greases, a higher-powered fan may be the best for you. However, with higher powers and fan speeds often come higher noise levels. It may be tempting to select the most powerful option, but a range hood that surpasses your needs might ultimately require larger duct work, more space, or earplugs.
No matter what you decide on, we’ve got you covered. Check out our selection of wall-mounted range hoods now.
General Summary of Proposition 65
The “California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986” (more commonly referred to as ‘Proposition 65’)
was enacted to ensure that customers be properly warned when a product contains a substance known to cause cancer or
reproductive harm. The law requires the State of California to publish and maintain (annually) a list of substances
to be available to the general public. Additionally, the law requires that businesses properly notify residents of
the State of California about the presence of these substances in the products they purchase, or that may be present
in their homes, workplaces, or that otherwise may be released into the environment. The specific list contains a wide
range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances including manufacturing and construction chemicals, pesticides,
tobacco, food-additives, solvents, household products, drugs and byproducts created from a specific product usage.
You may have noticed the below warning label on our products, or on products from other manufacturers. The warning
has become increasingly commonplace and oftentimes raises questions about why the warning exists, and what it means
to a customer. The warning itself is just one of many requirements for businesses operating in and/or selling products
to customers in the the State of California. The warning does not mean that a product that includes the warning will
cause cancer or reproductive harm, but rather it simply is provided in order to educate the consumer that a substance
may exist. A large number of the substances listed under Proposition 65 have been in regular use for many years
without any documented harm to a consumer. This is due to the low concentrations and minimal exposure that actually
occurs with these substances. Those chemicals, however, have been determined by the State of California to be listed
as potentially harmful.
I don’t live in California. Why did my product include this warning?
In order to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements we have determined that all products manufactured by
Living Direct Inc, including products sold under the EdgeStar, Avallon and Koldfront brands, should include the
above-referenced warning label. This labeling requirements exists for all of our products regardless of the
location / destination to which the product is ultimately sold and/or shipped.
We believe that our products, when used as designed, are not harmful and as such this warning is provided
in order to properly conform to the requirements of Proposition 65.
